Stadco expands with Telford site
Automotive parts supplier Stadco has expanded with the purchase of a manufacturing plant in Telford. The Shropshire-based company said that up to 80 jobs would be created at the additional site.
The company described the acquisition as “significant” and said it would further strengthen the company’s platform for growth.
The Telford site is 18-acres and will initially incorporate two large mechanical stamping lines, a fully-equipped toolroom and a further 258,334 sq ft of manufacturing area for future expansion.
Stadco will start commissioning work in February 2011 and aims to be in full production by June 2011.
An additional 50 permanent jobs will be created at the site with a further 30 workers required during the start up phase.
The acquisition of the Telford site provides Stadco with additional capacity to meet the increase in vehicle production in the UK.
Stadco supplies parts for Jaguar Land Rover across the range of vehicles, including the Jaguar XF and XK, Land Rover Defender, Freelander, Discovery, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles.
