Abacus Group reveals new line-up
The Abacus Group has made a string of senior appointments. It includes the hiring of group managing director Andrew Morris-Richardson at the Nottinghamshire-based lighting company.
Morris-Richardson takes on the role following Geoff Hall’s retirement from the business.
The lighting manufacturer is headquartered in Nottinghamshire and has manufacturing operations in China and offices in Russia.
Having worked for the business for more than 22 years as finance director, Morris-Richardson will now be responsible for overseeing all the group’s worldwide operations including Abacus Lighting in the UK, Shanghai Abacus and Abacus Lighting in Russia.
Other new appointments to the team include Chris Welbourn who will lead UK and international manufacturing operations and John Lawson, who joins board as group finance director.
Morris-Richardson said: “Abacus is embarking on a new phase of growth and expansion and our new structure recognises the dynamism and enthusiasm that is required to take us on this new journey. With global growth, there comes inevitable challenges and the new leadership team will be working hard to ensure that the same passion for customer service, innovation, quality, delivery and sustainability remains at the heart of all our operations.”
Abacus plans to open a new factory in the Fengxian district of Shanghai later this year, and it recently announced three new international partnerships in Belarus, Algeria and Abu Dhabi.
