Dragon fires up with entrepreneur lecture
A former Dragons’ Den investor has teamed up with the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship (NCGE) to deliver a seminar at Coventry University.
Doug Richard, a California-based software entrepreneur, will use the lecture on 10 February to support and encourage budding entrepreneurs.
Richard appeared on the BBC reality programme as a ‘dragon’ between 2004 and 2006.
He said the seminar at the university would enable him to “share tips, examples and case studies to stimulate a more entrepreneurial approach to business start-ups and to encourage people to make the most of their ideas”.
Ian Robertson, chief executive of the NCGE, said: “The UK is going through a period of rapid change. The economic downturn and the increased competitiveness from other nations means that our universities have to deliver greater impact through their research.
“We want to help them do that in the most practical way possible. We are therefore delighted to be working with someone of Doug Richard’s standing. I can think of no-one better to inspire and educate our academics.”
