NMC wins university contract
Building company North Midland Construction has been awarded a £350,000 public realm contract by The University of Liverpool.
The business will create a thoroughfare on the university’s Chatham Street campus, including granite paved areas, tree planting and seating and drainage systems.
North Midland Construction is already working on a £3m project on Castle Street and £4.5m worth of improvement works on Mount Pleasant.
Liverpool’s City Centre Movement Strategy has been delivering improvements to roads and public spaces since its launch in 2003 with more than £70m invested in regenerating the city’s highways, pedestrian areas and public spaces. The aim of the CCMS is to balance the needs of all road users, motorist, pedestrian and public transport.
Geoff Poyzer, executive director of special projects at North Midland Construction, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded a third contract in Liverpool. It is great to be working in Liverpool and playing a part in the transformation of the city centre.”
