Starbucks serves up perfect blend in Northampton
A Starbucks drive-thru is set to open at St James Retail Park in Northampton. The 1,800 sq ft unit is set to open in the next couple of months, said the retail park’s owner British Land.
The drive-thru will become one of the coffee giant’s first such units in the UK.
British Land said the addition to the complex would “complement St James Park’s comprehensive lifestyle mix of brands”, which includes Bhs, Next Home, Mothercare, Homesense and Laura Ashley.
Adele Reast Duggan, Starbucks’ director of property, said: “We’re delighted to be opening a Starbucks drive thru at such a prominent retail location in Northampton. As well as bringing new employment opportunities to the area, St James Retail Park is the perfect location for a Starbucks drive thru to serve customers who want a coffee on the go but don’t wish to compromise on quality.
“Additionally, the store will be built to a green building standard called LEED (and Breeam), which means, for example, up to 20 per cent less energy and water usage.”
Morgan Williams acted for British Land and Starbucks acted for itself in the deal.
