Radwell International sets up in Staffs

A US company is preparing to launch its European headquarters in Staffordshire after receiving a £1.5m loan from NatWest commercial banking. Radwell International, which supplies industrial automation products, will move into a 50,000 sq ft base on Lymedale Business Park in Newcastle under Lyme.

New Jersey-based Radwell International has established Radwell International UK, which will become its European subsidiary. The venture has led to the creation of seven new jobs.

Radwell supplies and repairs programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and equipment such as timers, counters and motors. It’s customers include drinks giant Coca Cola as well as smaller independent businesses.

Established more than 30 years ago, Radwell has grown into a $50m turnover business, employing 320 staff at its base in Lumberton, New Jersey.

Radwell has recruited Becky White to head its European operations. White, who spent five years at Rockwell Automation, the US-based engineering company, is targeting a a first year turnover of £4m.
