Precast concrete specialist Evans Concrete has secured a £400,000 contract to work on London’s new Borough Viaduct, which aims to boost capacity at London Bridge station. The Derbyshire-based company will supply the framework units to the structure.

The contract was awarded to Evans Concrete by Skanska on behalf of Network Rail.

The Borough Viaduct forms part of the Thameslink programme.

Evans Concrete will manufacture and supply 300 precast vaulted permanent formwork units to the viaduct structure.

Chris Foster, managing director of Evans Concrete, said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded this contract by Skanska. It is such a highly respected company and to work alongside them will be fantastic for us. We will produce around 300 units over the next six months.

“The project adds to a number of other contracts we have secured recently, further demonstrating our growing success.”
