Tower Tool is offering five new apprenticeship places. The Wigston business creates tools used to make parts for Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

Managing director Myles Ball said: “Apprenticeships have been a real success story for us in building a skilled workforce to enable us to compete.

"We want to find five people with the right attitude and enthusiasm to take up the exciting challenge of an Apprenticeship. We are looking for one IT apprentice, up to three for toolmaking and one in Computer Aided Design and draughting skills."

The company currently employs 15 people and offers training schemes at Leicester College and South Leicestershire College for its apprentices. It has been taking on apprentices for 16 years at the site.

Ball added: "With such experience and qualifications, the apprentices will be in high demand and with a lifetime of good pay and interesting work ahead."
