New leaf at paper company
Thirty jobs have been saved at The Crimped Paper Works in Chapel-en-le-Frith after the business and assets of the company were bought from administration.
Manchester packaging business Doric Anderton acquired the company from administrators at Leonard Curtis for an undisclosed sum.
Doric said it planned a series of investments in the business to help it build on its market-leading position. The Crimped Paper Works was founded in 1988 and makes paper cases and baking products. Doric acquired the assets through its subsidiary Food Packaging and Cakeboards.
Robert Brace, director of Food Packaging, said: “There is considerable overlap in terms of customer base with Food Packaging and this acquisition enables us to serve our customers with an even wider product offering.
“We think there is great potential in the crimped paper market and we will relish taking the business forward."
