Northamptonshire-based pallet network company Freightroute has purchased a depot in Chasetown, Staffordshire. Funding to support the new unit, which will be the company’s ninth UK outlet, was provided by NatWest.

Freightroute operates a nationwide delivery service for palletised goods, and 130 vehicles across its depot network. The company’s depot sites are located in Irthlingborough, Bradford, Durham, Falkirk, Gloucester, Thetford and Wigan.

The site is 30,000 sq ft in Attwood Road, Burntwood Business Park. Frieghtroute said has been described as “another key strategic location to its network hub”, and would allow the company to continue with its expansion plans.

Michael Hurford, Freightroute’s finance director, said: “Chasetown is a good purchase for us. Strategically it is a great location and the warehousing space provides further options for the company. It is important that we are in the right location and close to our customers and their needs. The West Midlands is an important collection and distribution hub and we are now well placed to expand the business further.”

Neil Best, senior relationship manager at NatWest commercial banking in Northampton, added: “Freightroute have successfully built their business by aligning their operations closely to their customer needs. The new site in Chasetown greatly enhances their ability to expand their business into the West Midlands.”
