Wakemans to work on Welsh enterprise centre
The Birmingham office of construction company Wakemans has been appointed to advise on the £1.1m development of an enterprise centre in Wales.
Wakemans was commissioned by charitable housing association Cymdeithas Tai Eryri to work on the centre in Botwnnog, North Wales.
The enterprise centre has been designed and specified in accordance with the BREEAM ‘excellent’ requirements as required by the Welsh Assembly Governments for any public funded buildings.
Wakemans associate director, Dylan Morris, said: “The new enterprise centre sets a high visual standard and will demonstrate how quality sustainable buildings, which are in keeping with a rural setting and do not detract from the local character, can be developed.”
The new complex will incorporate offices, workshops, two computer suites, a conference room and a café for use by the local community. The scheme is being part funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, the Welsh European Funding Office and private investment by the client, Cymdeithas Tai Eryri.
The scheme is currently under construction and expected to be complete by May 2011.
