Leicester-based law firm Smith Partnership has appointed a new solicitor to its commercial litigation team. The company said that the recruitment of Gemma Clarke was part of its “ongoing expansion” of the firm.

Clarke joins the firm from The JM Practice in Grantham, where she held sole responsibility for debt recovery services.

She will now lead Smith Partnership’s Leicester debt recovery services, in particular its online service Activate. Clarke will also assist Rachel McCahill-Brown, head of Smith Partnership’s Insolvency Team.

Clarke said: “Smith Partnership is one of the most well-respected and forward thinking law firms in the region with an excellent reputation. I am delighted to become part of the team.”

Commercial litigation partner and managing partner for Leicester, Alison Neate, added: “Gemma has the enthusiasm and commitment to meeting clients needs that we look for in all of our solicitors. She will be a valuable addition to the team.”

Smith Partnership has offices in Leicester, Derby, Stoke, Burton and Swadlincote.
