Butchers Pet Care signs 20 year Crick lease
Butcher’s Pet Care has taken a 20-year lease at G Park Crick, near Northampton. The new warehouse will act as the pet food business’ new headquarters and is to include facilities to produce five million cans of food per week.
The deal was forward funded by investment manager Legal & General Property on behalf of its managed pension fund.
Developer Gazeley delivered the 260,000 sq ft building in 38 weeks. The new facility, part of the 95-acre estate, has been designed to meet the growing demand that the company is experiencing as it grows its business across Europe.
Charlie Walker, senior fund manager at Legal & General Property, said: "We saw value in the prelet market during 2009 and the early part of 2010 and we are pleased to have funded this successful development.”
Graham Baker, founder of Butcher’s Pet Car, said: “We are delighted with the new facility which fully meets our expectations. The quality of engineering is exactly what we expected from Gazeley and confirms our decision to work with them was the right one.
“From the outset their teams worked closely with us to ensure all our requirements were incorporated into its development. The speed of the construction and the ability to continue our business was essential and Gazeley allowed us to do just that.”
Agents CBRE and Dowley Turner Real Estate acted for Gazeley, Burbage Realty acted for Butcher’s Pet Care and Knight Frank acted for Legal & General.
