PwC in graduate recruitment drive
PwC said it plans to create 1,200 graduate jobs, including up to 125 in the Midlands. It is the accountancy firm’s biggest recruitment drive and the new employees with join the assurance, advisory and tax divisions.
The firm is planning to recruit a further 50 to 75 graduates to start full-time permanent jobs in the Midlands later this year.
Mark Smith, regional chairman of PwC in the Midlands, said: “We’ve seen early applications to the firm skyrocket this year because students wanted to be first in line for the jobs as soon as they were created.
“With plans to recruit a total of 1,200 graduates nationally, including 100 to 125 here in the Midlands, we’ve created the largest ever number of jobs for students and graduates at the firm, so there are plenty of opportunities remaining. Graduates applying now could be starting work at one of our Midlands-based offices as early as April.”
PwC opened recruitment for over 1200 graduates, 400 interns and around 70 A Level students in October 2009 and received over 5,500 applications in the first six weeks.
In total, more than 1,600 roles have now been created, representing the highest ever recruitment levels on record for the firm.
