Rossa Dairy Products melts away

Share | |

Rossa Dairy Products, a Leicester-based manufacturer of ice cream and dairy products founded more than a century ago, has called in administrators after being hit by rising costs.

Ravi Sembi and John Lowe, from Begbies Traynor, have been appointed joint administrators to the company, which employed 19 people.

The company directors said the company could not carry on trading as it was facing “serious working capital pressures”.

Sembi said: “It is a shame that well known and established businesses are failing due to factors outside their control.

“It is our objective to sell the business and assets and we hope that there will be an opportunity for some of the employees who were made redundant prior to our appointment, to be re-employed should a suitable purchaser be found.”

Rossa Dairy Products makes traditional Italian-style ice cream and yoghurts largely for the wholesale trade.
