Wastecycle wins university contracts
Wastecycle, a Nottingham-based waste management business, has been awarded the contract to manage the recycling and waste collection at two Leicestershire Universities. In a joint agreement, Wastecycle has been awarded a three-year deal with the University of Leicester and Loughborough University.
Wastecycle described the contract as a “major win” outside its base in Nottinghamshire.
Wastecycle’s national account manager Daniel Shearstone said: “This contract builds on our recent good work in Leicestershire and represents a real breakthrough into the region. We look forward to the high recycling rate at our material handling facility making a real difference to the local environment while delivering cost saving to both organisations.”
Wastecycle will be serving more than 26,500 students and staff at the University of Leicester and 19,500 at Loughborough University. The company estimates there will be around 4,000 tonnes of waste removed and recycled each year.
