Blusource to open Colmore Row office
Executive recruitment company Blusource is to open up its first office outside of the East Midlands in Birmingham’s Colmore Row, Insider can exclusively reveal. As reported by Insider before Christmas, Blusource, the company run by entrepreneur Andrew Springhall, had been looking to sign a lease on premises in Birmingham as part of the company’s expansion plans.
Now, the company has revealed that it has taken space at 102 Colmore Row in the heart of Birmingham’s professional services community.
The company’s Birmingham office will be its second, having launched an expansion plan from its Nottingham headquarters.
Springhall told Insider: “It had been a top priority to have a Birmingham address pretty much from the start. Over 50 per cent of our revenues can be attributed to our relationships with West Midlands-based firms and we are now extremely pleased to be having a base there too.”
Springhall said his vision was to continue create a “superior professional search and selection business across the region”. Since its launch, said Springhall, Blusource has “developed strategic partnerships with a number of legal and accounting practices” and is now “being regarded as one of the key players across the Midlands region.”
During 2010, Blusource Legal, one of the group’s divisions, was involved in significant M&A activity and team moves within the sector. Philip White, director, said: "Recession aside, mergers, takeovers and general restructuring is a growing trend for law firms as changes outlined in the Legal Services Act (2007) will come fully into force in 2012.
"With some experts calling the Act 'the big bang for the legal profession' the market is facing serious upheaval and intense competition, with many traditional business models in the sector being forced to change or dramatically lose out."
