Wolseley 'sets sale deadline' for Bathstore
Leamington Spa-based Wolseley is thought to be selling its Bathstore division, with the deadline for potential bids set for tomorrow. According to reports, plumbing chain Wolseley will sell the Ripon-based division for about £85m.
The plumbing and building company has reportedly approached several private equity firms regarding the potential sale with tomorrow, Wednesday 12 January, set as the deadline.
Reports in October last year suggested that Wolseley would sell the division, which it bought in 2003 for an undisclosed sum, but these were never confirmed or denied.
In relation to the latest speculation, a Wolseley spokesperson told Insider: “There have been a number of stories in the press recently about Bathstore. However, it is pure speculation and as such we do not comment.”
