Widdowson drives home double deal
Leicester-based distribution company The Widdowson Group has won new contracts with SwissPrimePack and Asia UK Trading. The contracts give Widdowson sole responsibility for the UK logistics operations of both companies.
Fast moving consumer goods (FCMG) company Asia UK Trading specialises in specialises in sourcing products that retail for one pound.
Asia UK’s operations director, Priavaden Varsani, said: “The contract is well underway and we are delighted with the service. Deliveries arrive on time and, if necessary, Widdowson liaises directly with our customers – in fact we’ve had no issues at all. It’s a total partnership.”
SwissPrimePack is the Switzerland-based manufacturer of plastic packaging.
Lisa Perry, managing director of SwissPrimePack, said: “The decision to move from our previous warehouse/logistics provider was not undertaken overnight as we have benefitted from a long relationship with them. However issues with product cleanliness together with cost led me to review the market in search of a new partner who could offer flexible warehousing and UK distribution facilities.
“Having met with several organisations I eventually awarded the contract to Widdowson due to their edge over all their competitors.”
