PQS eyes expansion after Derby triumph
Survey equipment, sales, hire and service business PQS Survey has increased its turnover after the launch of a new East Midlands depot. The company is now eyeing up expansion opportunities after the success of its Derby site.
The creation of a new depot in Derby was made possible by invoice finance backing from Yorkshire Bank.
Using the finance facility, Leeds-based PQS opened a new depot in Derby last summer, which created five jobs.
The business, founded in Meanwood by managing director Carl Pick, is also using Yorkshire Bank funding to create an e-commerce facility and provide technical training support to a technician servicing all hire equipment in house.
Pick said: "Our Derby opening enabled us to create an initial five jobs, including a branch manager, sales director, service technician and driver. Its success, even in the current climate, means that we now aim to further expand our business by opening new depots in other parts of the UK.
"Using Yorkshire Bank funding to provide continued training for our technician will enable us to carry out all servicing in-house, improving quality control and eliminating outsourcing costs.”
