Accountancy firm Chantrey Vellacott DFK is relocating its Birmingham office to a property on The Calthorpe Estate in Edgbaston. The firm will occupy 4,750 sq ft of space on a seven-year lease.

The accountant will move from its current offices in Hagley Road to new premises at 35 Calthorpe Road once renovation work on the Grade-II building has been completed.

Suk Aulak, partner at Chantrey Vellacott DFK in Birmingham, said: “This move will be a major milestone in the history of Chantrey Vellacott so we’re delighted it has been agreed. It paves the way for further future growth of the firm in the Midlands.

“We’ve been exploring different options for quite a while now, although we always knew we wanted to stay on The Calthorpe Estate as it is such a prime business location. When the opportunity arose to move into modern offices and at the same time help bring an old building back to life, we had to take it.

“The firm has outgrown its current offices and so moving into a bespoke building fits in with the expansion plans we have for the future.”

Chantrey Vellacott mploys 40 people at its Birmingham office. The move into Calthorpe Road is expected to complete in May 2011.
