Willowbrook expands with healthy investment
Leicester’s Willowbrook Medical Practice has developed new high-tech premises and training facilities after securing a loan from Lloyds TSB Commercial. The redeveloped practice, situated in Thurncourt Road, now has what its partners believe are “some of the best GP facilities in Leicester”.
New assets include teaching facilities, a meeting room and a new pharmacy. The surgery serves about 5,000 patients in the area.
Dr Rishabh Prasad, partner at the surgery, said: “We are doctors, not business people. But as a surgery becomes larger the nature of the practice has to adapt and the GPs have to hold more meetings and take more financial decisions.
“We were very grateful that Lloyds TSB’s healthcare banking team was very supportive in this respect, helping us to create a corporate structure. Our relationship manager knows the healthcare sector as well as us. That helped give the partners the confidence to push ahead with our plans.”
