A Warwickshire tourist attraction has invested £1m into a new indoor play area after securing financial support from NatWest Commercial Banking in Coventry. Hatton Country World has created eight jobs and secured a further 50 in its Farm Village & Restaurant through the deal.

The play area was built in six months by Taylor-Made Play, with funding for the project being provided by NatWest Commercial Banking.

Hatton Country World was established in 1980 by Johnnie Arkwright, and has expanded over the past 30 years to comprise 20 independent gift and craft shops as well as the farm village. The attraction now employs 170 people.

Owner Arkwright said he was “very aware” of the need for an all year round children’s play facility on site, and created the concept of Snorty’s Bouncing Barnyard, a large soft play and activity centre.

At 12,000 sq ft, the indoor play area is thought to be the largest in the county.

Brian Calcutt, relationship director for NatWest Commercial Banking, said: “As a bank we have been working with Johnnie Arkwright and Hatton Country World for a number of years and were keen to support this local success story.

“Snorty’s Bouncing Barnyard looks superb and is a great addition to Hatton. I’m delighted NatWest have been able to help turn Johnnie and Hatton Country World’s great idea into a reality whilst supporting the local economy with the creation of jobs.”
