Bevan showcases green car body part
Bevan Motor Bodies, the vehicle parts manufacturer, has raked in more than £2m of sales from an "environmentally-friendly" car body part. The Oldbury-based company showcased its latest model for Adrian Bailey, MP for West Bromwich West and chairman of the Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) Select Committee.
The manufacturer, which employs 160 people across its four sites in the Black Country, gave a special demonstration of the ‘Bevan 21’.
The car body model is said to reduce weight, increases payload and cut the carbon footprint of the vehicle and provide customers with a 15 per cent saving on fuel costs.
Lee Dimmock, operations director at Bevan, said: “We are always looking at developing new products to stay ahead of the market and the low carbon marketplace offers us an excellent opportunity to put our design and technical expertise to the fore.
“Working with the Manufacturing Advisory Service-West Midlands, our in-house team spent hundreds of hours developing the aerodynamic frame that gives the ‘Bevan 21’ such unique performance.”
