A new social enterprise centre has been launched at Derby’s Derwent Business Centre. Kleensafe, a not-for-profit property clearance and cleaning company, aims to support vulnerable adults by giving them a first job opportunity.

Derby County footballers Ben Pringle and Dean Moxey joined the Mayor of Derby to launch the new project.

The company offers cleaning services including house and rubbish clearance, including safe removal of drug paraphernalia, end of tenancy cleaning, and outbuilding and garden clearance.

The Mayor of Derby, Amar Nath, said: “I am delighted to celebrate the launch of a business that will change people’s lives.”

Dawn Briscoe, managing director of Kleensafe, said: “I chose the Derwent Business Centre due to the good incentitives it offered, which made it stand out for me from all the other places in the area.

“It has all the facilities that we need, including a spacious conference room and flexible office space, so it is ideal for a new business like us.”

The centre is due to be refurbished in a £100,000 investment programme by developer Blueprint.
