Nottingham academics in microwave project
The University of Nottingham is collaborating in a new electronics research and manufacturing project to develop the next generation of microwave electronic devices.
Academics at the university are to work with e2v, a provider of specialised solutions, subsystems and components.
The aim of the collaboration is to develop the next generation of microwave electronic devices and the £1m funding from e2v aims to lead to a new purpose-built cleanroom built at the university's Physics and Astronomy school.
Dr Chris Mellor, principal investigator of the new collaboration for the university, said: “This collaboration enables the manufacture of cutting edge electronics in the East Midlands to continue. We look forward to working with e2v to develop the next generation of devices based on our existing expertise in III-V semiconductor physics.”
The collaboration will involve the university matching e2v’s funding and aims to position the two partners at the "forefront of developments in microwave device fabrication".
