Wow! Stuff wins national award
Wow! Stuff, a Wolverhampton-based toy, gadget and gift developer and manufacturer, has beaten thousands of UK entries to become the overall national winner of HSBC’s Business Thinking scheme to find the the country's "most innovative and forward thinking companies".
One of two regional winners were invited to the international event in Hong Kong where the winner was decided, Wow! Stuff will receive up to £100,000 to support the development of their next business idea.
Richard North, managing director of Wow! Stuff, said: "It's probably the first time I am genuinely speechless.”
Noel Quinn, head of HSBC CMB UK, said: "In Richard, on one side we clearly saw energy, creativity, enthusiasm. On the other, his execution was exceptional and his ambition was phenomenal."
The company is aiming to take sales from £17m this year to £350m by 2014 and will use the funding to grow its export sales.
