American firms open up in Birmingham
Two US-owned companies have signed leases on units in the Colmore Row Business Plaza in Birmingham. Reach Local and UK Power Reserve have both agreed deals on flexible office space in the building, taking a total of 35 workstations between them.
The property is supervised by management specialist Orega.
California-headquartered Reach Local, which specialises in online advertising, has signed for a total of 25 workstations on a 12-month contract. The company launched in the UK in 2008, and has expanded into Birmingham after securing bases in London and Manchester.
UK Power Reserve, headquartered in Oaklahoma, is part of Walters Power International which supplies, develops, services and manages electrical generation power plants around the world. The company has taken ten desks in the Orega business centre for 12 months for its UK headquarters.
Caron Salter-Hill, Orega’s business centre manager in Birmingham, says: “Our business centre in Colmore Plaza appears to meet all the requirements of US companies looking for a toehold in the UK market or a sound Midlands base.
"It’s a modern, good looking building in a prime area of the city centre, not far from motorway, railway and airport connections, and – importantly – it gives them the flexibility to expand or consolidate depending on how quickly the business grows.”
