Notts companies create tree house trio

Three Nottinghamshire companies have helped create new tree house accommodation at Center Parcs in Sherwood Forest. The 2,500 sq ft tree houses provide living space for eight people, mood lighting and underfloor heating.

The Nottingham office of construction consultancy Edmond Shipway acted as project manager for the development of the accommodation, whilst Ollerton-based architectural practice Jackson created the design. Construction company Jessops, based in Newark, was the main contractor.

David Stevenson, director at Edmond Shipway, said: “There have been many challenges involved in such a unique project, but my team have delivered a first class leisure accommodation experience unrivalled in the UK market. We are delighted that we have been able to bring together the many facets of the project to deliver such a stunning result.”

The three tree houses comprise four double bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, Italian style kitchens and external hot tubs and saunas.

They are served by ground source heat pump boreholes providing hot water, via a district heating network, to underfloor heating. Renewable electricity is provided through solar panels which are located remotely form the tree canopy.
