Santander signs Keele deal
Keele University and Santander Universities have signed an agreement offering students and researchers to develop a variety of projects. Grants, funding and scholarships will be made available through the Santander Universities scheme.
The bank has also opened a branch on the Keele University campus.
Through its Santander Universities Global Division, the bank has channelled almost €600m into academia through collaboration agreements with over 900 universities. The partnerships have been agreed in Spain, Latin America, Portugal, China, Singapore, Morocco, Russia, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Under the partnership, ten flexible scholarships for postgraduate and undergraduate students will be available every year. Mobility grants will also be awarded, and a fund has been set up to support non-academic achievement in areas such as corporate social responsibility, entrepreneurship and employability.
Luis Juste, director of Santander Universities UK, said: “Today Keele University has opened its doors to Santander. Not only are we signing a long term agreement with the university but also we are opening to the public our branch on campus. The spirit of Santander Universities is one of collaboration and partnership and Keele have fully embraced this spirit.”
