Spearing Waite advises JK Environmental Services on sale
Leicester law firm Spearing Waite has advised JK Environmental Services on its £7m sale to British Gas. The deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions for the energy giant.
Royston-based JK Environmental Services supplies environmental services, sewer cleansing and tankering services to the business market and has five depots across the Midlands and southern England.
All 102 employees at its five sites which include Anstey Hill, Leicester and Coventry will be taken on by the new owner.
JK Environmental Services will become part of British Gas’ Electrical & Dyno Services business, Dyno-Rod, but will continue to operate under its own name and to deliver existing contracts.
The acquisition will, British Gas said, strengthen the company’s service delivery capabilities in the industrial and commercial sector, with particular focus on water and sewerage companies.
Martin Smith, from Spearing Waite, said: “This deal, which follows hot on the heels of several others involving Stock Exchange listed companies, is a further strong example of the corporate work which the team is now regularly attracting and indeed is capable of successfully executing.”
