Devereux scrubs up University of Cambridge

A decorating company based near Market Harborough has completed a series of specialist decorating projects at Jesus College at the University of Cambridge. Devereux Decorators was commissioned to work on The Fellows’ Dining Hall and the Master’s Lodge at the college.

Work carried out by Devereux included redecorating the main hall’s third elevation as well as graining the doors, gold gilding and marbling. Renovation in the Master’s Lodge involved the hanging of specially commissioned hand printed wallpaper.

Mackenzie Devereux-Batchelor, contracts director of Devereux Decorators, said: “Working at such an historic and prestigious site as the University of Cambridge was a real delight. Our staff are real craftspeople and it’s good to know that there is still a demand for specialist techniques such as marbling and gilding alongside the more contemporary work that we do.”
