Five companies based in the East Midlands have earned a spot on the Sunday Times Fast track 100 list. The league table, which features the country’s top 100 privately owned companies with the fastest-growing sales, features online phone retailer buymobilephones.net, which took the third highest spot.

The list tracked the companies’ growth over the past three years.

Derbyshire-based buymobilephones experienced a 340 per cent annual sales growth over the three-year period.

Northampton’s Staysure.co.uk, the online provider of insurance for the over-50s, also secured a spot inside the top ten, at number eight.

Events producer Liz Hobbs Group entered the list at number 20, followed by Brackley’s International Appliances, at number 27. Clothing retailer Joules, based in Leicestershire, entered the list at number 84.

Liz Hobbs Group’s chief executive officer, Liz Doogan-Hobbs, said: “We’re delighted to be officially recognised as one of the UK’s fastest growing companies and to be ranked so highly makes us even more proud.

“We see this success as testament not only to the quality of our events and the business we have won and completed, but the loyalty and commitment of our customers that we value so highly and the hard work of our team who put in so much effort to make us what we are.”
