Derby Council agrees £4.6m BSF contract
Derby City Council has appointed educational software supplier RM to provide the ICT systems and services for its Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. The contract with the Oxfordshire-based provider is worth £4.6m.
The systems and services will be provided as part of the Balfour Beatty Education consortium, which has been appointed to deliver Derby's BSF programme.
RM previously announced on 21 June 2010 that it had been selected as preferred bidder for the contract.
Derby’s BSF programme will renew three secondary schools and provide enhancements to 15 other schools.
RM will provide a comprehensive range of ICT products and services, including classroom technology, email, learning platform and cashless catering.
Terry Sweeney, chief executive of RM, said: “We are continuing to make progress bringing the BSF projects where we had been appointed preferred bidder to financial close.
"It's good news that we'll be working with our partners in the Balfour Beatty Education consortium on major renewals of three schools in Derby. We look forward to providing engaging technology to complement the inspiring new learning spaces planned as part of the programme.”
