deVere Group signs up to Flint Bishop
The deVere Group, the world's largest independent financial consultancy, has signed up to the ‘long-distance’ will writing service created by Derby-based law firm Flint Bishop. The Zurich-based group has brought 50,000 customers to the FB Wills Direct service.
FB Wills Direct simplifies the will writing process by enabling people to prepare a will at their convenience from anywhere in the world, without having to visit a solicitor.
Flint Bishop will now provide advice and assistance on creating personalised wills for deVere’s clients’ UK based assets, regardless of their residence.
A recent survey undertaken by deVere amongst expatriates and international investors found that more than 50 per cent do not have a will. Seventy per cent said that they were not familiar with the different types of wills available.
Ken Dixon, managing partner of Flint Bishop, added: “Providing certain legal services at a distance, in particular online, is an area of sustained growth for the private client side of the firm.
"It allows us not only to expand our client base outside our geographical region, but also to provide services in a way in which people wish to buy them. Recent statistics show that, despite the economic slowdown, online purchasers are continuing to increase.”
