Deloitte partner announces retirement
Peter Hipperson, audit partner at Deloitte in Nottingham, has retired from the business after nearly 40 years. He will be replaced by David Hall, who has been with the company since 2002.
Hipperson has worked in Nottingham for 34 years. He joined Deloitte in 1971 at the firm’s Cambridge office, before transferring to Nottingham five years later.
During his time at Deloitte, Hipperson worked with many of the city’s manufacturing firms, in particular the Nottingham Lace companies.
He said: “I have enjoyed a long career at Deloitte, during which time I have been privileged to work with some amazing people and companies.
“I have witnessed great change in the role played by UK companies in the global area of manufacturing. The ingenuity of those who make things and those who make machines that make things is, however, timeless.”
Hall will move from Deloitte’s Birmingham office to take over from Hipperson. Hall joined the Birmingham office of Deloitte in 2002 and leads the firm’s national education audit team.
Mark Doleman, Deloitte Nottingham’s office senior partner, said: “We’re obviously sad to be saying goodbye to Peter, given the contribution he has made to the firm, and in particular the Nottingham office, over the last 40 years.
“However, in David we know we have a more than suitable replacement. David knows the Nottingham market well, given that he already serves several clients based in the East Midlands. With his new role, we’re looking forward to David spending more time in the region to help grow and develop the business, particularly in the education and manufacturing sectors.”
