Escalade scores with Nottingham unit
Global sports equipment distributor Escalade International has acquired a unit in the Nottingham South and Wilford Industrial Estate. The Swansea-based company has purchased a five-year lease on the 6,101 sq ft property.
Escalade was advised by Fisher Hargreaves Proctor, while the landlord, JHL Estates, was advised by Lambert Smith Hampton.
The sports equipment supplier said it needed to purchase a Midlands base having acquired Nottingham-headquartered Accell Fitness in June this year.
David Gilson, of Escalade International, said: “Following the purchase of a local company we needed to relocate and Unit 19 fitted the bill perfectly for us. The unit will allow us to configure operations between Nottingham and Swansea allowing us to efficiently distribute our exclusive ranges of Marcy and Harvard sporting goods throughout Europe and the Middle East.”
Since acquiring the property in 2008, Midlands-based property company JHL Estates has carried out several phases of refurbishment and infrastructure improvements. These include the introduction of power assisted roller shutter doors, three-phase power supply, modernisation of the office and canteen space, and the provision of additional car parking.
