Sales at The Heart of England Conference and Events Centre have risen by 31 per cent over the past 12 months. The Coventry-based venue also announced the number of visitors rose from 6,000 to 20,000 in the same timeframe.

The venue in Meriden Road, Fillongley, near Coventry, has seen its total sales rise by 31 per cent in 2009/10 compared to the previous 12 months.

Conference bookings have also risen by 34 per cent over the same period.

The centre said the number of weddings and accommodation bookings was also “on an upward spiral” after hosting several wedding fayres and conferences.

Stephen Hammon, managing director of Heart of England Conference and Events Centre, said: “We have faced challenges just like every other business but these figures are particularly pleasing. To have had around 20,000 families, children and delegates use the Heart Beach in 12 months proves its popularity and we are delighted with its success.

“We are delighted with our annual figures – and we are now all focused on improving these statistics in the next 12 months.”
