InfoUK goes to market
Market Location, a data provider based in Leamington Spa, has bought Manchester-headquartered InfoUK. The company, which provides consumer and business databases, was bought from its US-based parent company for an undisclosed sum.
Patrick Bradshaw, director of Market Location, told Insider that InfoUK provided an “excellent growth opportunity” for the business.
He said: “InfoUK is a strong brand and we are confident that it will prove to be a perfect fit for us. We’re keeping on all the staff in Manchester and we intend to retain our presence in the city. There were a lot of interested parties when the company was put up for sale and so we are pleased to have completed a deal.”
InfoUSA launched its UK subsidiary in 2007 and began a rapid expansion programme, with its headcount passing the 100 mark by September 2008.
However, the business has reduced staff numbers dramatically over recent years, with just five employees working at the business at the time of the deal.
Bradshaw said Market Location has not made any redundancies and planned to run InfoUK with the existing team in place. He also confirmed that it would continue to trade under its current brand.
Market Location employs 115 people at its Leamington Spa base.
