Healthy move for Acorn Medical Practice

Share | |

Acorn Medical Practice has moved to new premises in Mansfield after securing a £800,000 loan from Lloyds TSB Commercial. The practice is moving as its previous base at St John’s Street Health Centre is being decommissioned.

The new practice, situated in Wood Street, has a clinic, three consulting rooms, a treatment room and a minor operations surgery.

The practice, which employs eight people, created a "purpose-built" property which could serve more patients and accommodate additional services. Lloyds TSB Commercial provided a £800,000 loan to finance the complete build.

Dr Badhr Khan, who isleading the surgery team, said: “We are committed to providing the best possible care for the people of Mansfield and our new practice will help us to build up our patient base going forward.

“The new surgery is larger and more accessible than our space at the St John’s street site and we have 60-70 sq m (645 - 753 sq ft) spare, which we hope to rent out to a pharmacist or convert into another consulting room as the practice grows.

“The funding provided by Lloyds TSB Commercial’s Healthcare Banking team has been instrumental in building the new premises and after nine months of hard work by our building design consultant, Smallwood Design, and our builders, Vaughandale Construction, we can now offer improved facilities for a greater number of patients in Mansfield.”
