Communisis axes Leicester operations
Marketing services provider Communisis has axed its Leicester operations and is moving its logistics arm into its Newcastle site.
The Leeds-based company made the announcement, which it hopes will save £4m a year, in a statement to the stock market.
Detailing the strategy, a spokesman said: “The programme will involve significant investment in high growth areas of the business funded by a reduction in cost. This will be achieved through the proposed consolidation of excess logistics capacity into the Newcastle site, with the consequent closure of the Leicester facility.”
The announcement means that Communisis’ entire print management services department will be based at the company’s Newcastle offices at Balliol Business Park West, Benton Lane.
The company, which provides services including creative, artwork and direct mail, has operations in 12 other locations throughout the UK.
