Top architect to speak at Insider property conference
Dan Smyth, director of architecture at Birmingham-based BDP, is to speak at Insider’s inaugural Midlands Business of Property Conference next Thursday.
BDP’s recent projects have included the new Queen Elizabeth ‘super hospital’ in Birmingham which part opened this year. BDP was responsible for the design of the site masterplan and the 1,246 bed acute teaching hospital on the site. Smyth is expected to speak about the balance between design and deliverability in the current climate.
Other speakers at the conference - which will precede the long running Insider Property Awards at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel at the NEC - include Waheed Nazir, director of regeneration at Birmingham City Council - and the brains behind the relaunched Big City Plan masterplan - and Neil Rami, chief executive of Marketing Birmingham.
