100 members for Buy with Confidence scheme
The Buy with Confidence scheme run by Brighton and Hove Trading Standards has registered its 100th member.
South Downs Flint is a family business specialising in handmade flint blocks for use in building and repair work.
Buy with Confidence is an independent trader vetting scheme provided by local council trading standards services. It is said to be good for local businesses as it helps them establish their reputation in an environment where many consumers are worried about rip-offs and rogue traders.
The scheme covers a wide range of businesses from general building, heating and locksmiths to car sales and servicing.
Meanwhile, two more traders have been awarded Buy with Confidence status by West Berkshire and Wokingham Trading Standards. The awards have been granted to decorating and maintenance firm DebOnair Décor of Finchampstead and car repair service Little Knocks of Wokingham.
