Cartwright King wins MoD contracts
Midlands law firm Cartwright King has won various new contracts from the Ministry of Justice. It has been successful in gaining three-year contracts for mental health work in South Yorkshire, the East and West Midlands, and at Rampton high security hospital in Nottinghamshire.
Cartwright King says it has crime and prison law contracts in all five cities where it has offices including Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Birmingham and Sheffield. The company has a team of more than 100 lawyers, including barristers.
Michael Thurston, managing director, said: “As our reputation grows, we are more successful in being awarded contracts.
"We handle a high volume of common law work with a particular focus on legal aid which we are fully aware brings with it significant challenges but we are firmly committed to providing a quality service to every individual.
"We are particularly proud to be able to provide quality mental health advice and advocacy and so to give a voice to those who, because of their illness, deserve representation in a civilised society. Our growth over the past 12 months has been significant and we plan to continue this progression.”
