Bank deal funds 140-tonne truck

Unity Recovery Services has won a cash injection from Yorkshire Bank. The Leicestershire recovery company is using the funds to add a 140-tonne recovery vehicle to its fleet.

Unity says it is now preparing to send its new Volvo Syren heavy recovery truck on missions for the first time, having put the finishing touches to paintwork and fully kitted out the vehicle with "top-of-the-range recovery equipment".

The family-owned firm, which has bases in Edge Hill Road in Leicester and on the A50 off Junction 22 of the M1 at Markfield along with a garage repair base in Wigston, has bought the new truck with the backing of Yorkshire Bank’s Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in New Walk, Leicester.

Owner John Rogers said: “I look at recovery vehicles all over the world and this is by far the most versatile I’ve seen and it has a 140 tonne metre rotating crane."

Unity recovers broken down and accident damaged vehicles across the UK and Europe with Leicestershire Police Constabulary among its clients.
