Factory expansion for Destec

Share | |

Lincolnshire-based Destec Engineering has invested in an expansion of its site. The development will extend the size of Destec’s main factory complex in Washingborough from 861 sq ft to 1,161 sq ft.

Destec, which manufactures high-pressure containment equipment and portable machine tools, claims to be "flourishing" as it is also expanding the size of its workforce.

It says the demand for its products means the company has outgrown its current working space so extending existing premises seemed the "only option".

Sales and marketing manager Alistair Chidwick said: "As well as coping with the ever-increasing demand, we also have our sights set on the potentially lucrative South American and African markets, which are rapidly emerging as key players in the future of oil and gas production.

"We also have exciting plans to move into the recycling sector in response to local government’s need to find alternative solutions to disposing waste in landfill.

"To enable us to respond to this we needed to not only increase our workforce but also enlarge our premises."

The new factory is set to open in December.
