Baker Tilly advises Staffline takeover
The Birmingham office of Baker Tilly has advised on the takeover of a Cambridgeshire recruitment agency. Nottingham-based recruitment company Staffline bought Qubic in a deal produced by Baker Tilly.
Managing director Mark Ambler and his fellow shareholders, who built Qubic into one of the largest independent recruitment agencies in Cambridgeshire, sold the business for an undisclosed sum.
Staffline said the acquisition was a “strategic move” by Staffline.
Andy Hogarth, Staffline’s chairman and chief executive, said: “Qubic is an excellent fit with Staffline. The business has principles very similar to our own and will provide us with a strengthening of our offering in the manufacturing sector.
“Our strong trading performance will enable us to continue to look for similar acquisition opportunities to enhance the group.”
Baker Tilly corporate finance director Tom Gallop led the deal for the vendors.
He said: “The successful completion of this deal reinforces the positive outlook for corporate finance activity in the region. There is a definite appetite from trade buyers for acquiring well run businesses.”
