Share | |

Worcester-based Resource Group has bought Cwmbran Training College from BAE Systems. Aerospace support service Resource said the move was “a natural acquisition”.

The deal was advised by the Birmingham office of HBJ Gateley Wareing.

Resource Group currently has more than 1,100 people deployed on contracts across the globe.

Cwmbran Training College, now rebranded as Resource Training, operates as an accredited CAA training provider for Air Traffic Control, Electronic Warfare, Air Defence and Aviation English.

The company also operates a joint training venture in the UK with airline Lufthansa – Lufthansa Resource Technical Training.

John Larkin, managing director of Resource Group, said: “Cwmbran Training College was a natural acquisition for us as it complements our existing services so well. The services offered by the college are world class and help us to further enhance our service offering to the aerospace, aviation and defence sectors.

“Changing market conditions mean we are finding that more and more of our offerings are requiring a joint input from engineering, recruitment and training divisions. That way we can offer the customer a bespoke risk-sharing solution to their requirements. Cwmbran College further strengthens our ability to meet the needs of our clients in a highly competitive market.”

Eversheds acted for BAE Systems.
