East Mids wins big at Family Business Awards
Five East Midlands businesses have been crowned winners at the inaugural Midlands Family Business Awards. The big award of the night, Family Business of the Year, was won by Chesterfield-based Penny Hydraulics.
The awards, for which Insider was the media partner, were held last night at Thrumpton Hall, Nottingham.
Lifting equipment provider Penny Hydraulics was crowned the Midlands Family Business of the Year at the awards, which was the first event to highlight the region’s most talented family businesses and their leaders.
The 'Best Newly-established Family Business' category, sponsored by Young & Pearce, was won by P& D Specialist Services of Derbyshire.
Melton Mowbray-based Hallmark Consumer Services won the 'Best Development of Talent' category, whilst T Baden Hardstaff of Nottingham won the 'Business Innovation of the Year' category, sponsored by EFG Private Bank.
Samantha Reynolds of Mansfield-based Woodleigh Christian Care Home was pronounced the winner of the 'Personal Excellence' category, sponsored by The Mitre Group.
A further 14 businesses from the East Midlands, spanning Lincoln, Leicester, Mansfield, Nottingham, Loughborough and Derby, were confirmed as runners-up in eight of the ten award categories.
