Merton Group expands with finance deal
Leicester-based Merton Group has purchased a new property and plans to create 14 new jobs after securing a funding package from NatWest Commercial Banking. The company, which manufactures disposable paper products and chemical cleaning materials, also received financial support from the East Midlands Development Agency (Emda).
The Merton Group supplies more than 3,500 cleaning and hygiene products to a variety of businesses.
With the financial support of NatWest Commercial Banking and Emda, the company, which currently employs 58 people, has purchased another freehold property in Foxholes Road, Leicester.
The purchase of the new 14,500 sq ft property will enable the Merton Group to upgrade their machinery, increase output and develop new products using recycled paper.
Co-chairman of Merton Group, Philip Tipton, said: “We had been searching for a suitable additional site for three long years and we are absolutely delighted that we have managed to purchase a property adjacent to our current premises with further expansion opportunities available within the site. This is logistically perfect for us.”
